Strength day — the focus today is the Pullup. 6 sets of decreasing reps. Increase the weight each set, ending with an attempt at a 1Rep Max. The last few reps of each set should be a real struggle. This may be new for some people, so play around with the weight and where to put it (between the knees, ankles or on a belt) in the warmup.
We have also added a Finisher for people to work on your pull-ups! We heard a few requests (aka complaints) that we hadn’t done enough pull-ups lately to toughen up those hands, so here ya go!
Use this opportunity to practice the pullup movement if you don’t already have it. This includes the kipping motion for those of you that are close to it! There is no better way to improve your pull-ups than to do more pull-ups!
Beyond Rxd Rxd: For the Weighted Pullup, we challenge you not to use any kip. Sometimes it is unavoidable, but the less movement the better.
Fitness: Most people won’t be able to add a lot of weight, scale to Strict Pullups. If you are unable to do these unassisted, use a band. If that is still too challenging, set yourself up with a really hard Ring Pullup or Ring Row version. Whatever version you choose, make sure it is hard and you are benefitting from it!
