02/15/2016 Happy President’s Day and Check Out Our Expanded Schedule!

Holiday Schedule today!!  We will have 6am/9am/10:30am CLASSES ONLY and 6:45pm FAMILY YOGA tonight!  And beginning this week, we will have expanded hours of OPEN GYM time immediately following the 5:30 pm classes until 8PM on TUESDAYS, THURSDAYS and FRIDAYS!!  Fridays will also now include a 5:30pm CrossFit Class. 

Join us tonight for Family Yoga Fun! Throw your dinner in the crockpot and your kids in the car and come join Kim for some relaxation and yoga practice to kick off the week!

Although not an Open Workout per se, it definitely has elements of what makes Open workouts so nasty; ascending rep scheme, thruster combined with a pulling movement and under 15min time domain. Enjoy this one!

Not a lot to brief for this workout, it is relatively straight forward. However, make sure you don’t start off too fast and crash mid way though. Pick a pace that you can maintain for the full 12minutes.  You should be able to go unbroken on both the thrusters and toes to bar until at least the round of 9’s. After that you may need to start breaking things up.


Don’t forget the Spaghetti Benefit Dinner for Steve Hankins, husband of CFS member Kristen Hankins, on Saturday February 20th at the Tuolumne Park 10 am-sundown!! $20 Spaghetti Dinner with soup, salad and bread and all proceeds will go towards Steve’s battle against cancer. Steve and Kristen are the owners of Ultimate Tan Company and have lived here in Sonora since 1975. In March of 2015, Steve developed a cancerous tumor in his head and neck. Steve and his family have been doing integrative therapy in Reno which is not covered by his insurance and each visit costs thousands of dollars out of pocket. There is still time to register for the 2016 CF Games OPEN!  We have 10 CFS members who have already registered to be part of something bigger.  Commit to being part of the community and celebrate the spirit of the CF Games.  Register TODAY!!… You can also be part of the action by taking the Online Judges Course. Count reps and judge movement standards for your fellow athletes and be part of the OPEN action! CFS will be performing the OPEN workouts each Friday, starting on Feb. 26th.  There will be potluck type get togethers, beer for our power athletes and commraderie for everyone!
